Preecha Raksorn’s (b. 1985) is known for his deft portrait and figurative painting. Drawing on his interest in subcultures such as comics and games, his dynamic works reflect an original combination of story-telling and comic book art. While Preecha taps into contemporary culture by interpreting and vividly bringing to life images on the internet and in offline publications, he most commonly depicts himself as the central character. Preecha criticises, mocks and talks to himself in these works, ingeniously portraying the story of man’s constant struggle with himself and quest for survival through his favourite means of expression—painting.
Preecha graduated from Silpakorn University in Bangkok and has exhibited his works in solo and group exhibitions in Thailand and Malaysia.
